Critic Consensus: Exceptionally executed with charm, humor, and heart, Master of None is a refreshingly offbeat take on a familiar premise.

Master of None is terrific, with great comedy ranging from the absurd (Paro!) to the situational, a KILLER soundtrack, and some sharp observations about life and culture.
Master of None isn't heavy-handed, but [Aziz] Ansari and co-creator Alan Yang want its characters and its viewers to become better humans. To accomplish this, everyone simply has to pay attention.
MASTER OF NONE is the type of series I have been waiting to happen...
By existing and being as great as it is, the series serves as a brilliant argument in favor of making films and TV shows more diverse, both in terms of the creative minds behind the camera and the actors in front of it.
Master of None isn't heavy on punchlines, favoring conversation instead, observational standup writ large. It has some weak spots early on, but it gives us a lot consider by the end.
Audience Reviews for Master of None: Season 1
Aziz Ansari is a hilarious and highly intelligent man in comedy who?s been working his way up for a long time. Through comedy films and stand-up tours, Ansari has established himself an iconic character of the comedic community, and he even wrote a book last year on the current state of social and romantic connection called Modern Romance. (It?s really good, especially if you like relevant and satirical books.) It then comes at no surprise that his Netflix series, Master of None, is nonstop hilarity and social commentary. It?s quick-witted, doesn?t shy away from real issues, and entertainingly depicts how awful but meaningful life can be.
