Many viewers will relate to Frank Castle's dark urge to hurt people out of fear of an unfair environment that might have already hurt them. But they won't get much insight from the Punisher's myopic new war on crime.

It is a problematic show; Frank's methods are hardly condoned, but morally he gets a pass. However, if you set aside its perplexingly muddy politics, there is a lot to enjoy.

No matter how many sad faces Frank Castle makes about his trauma, The Punisher can never escape the terrible gravity that its most basic purpose is inviting viewers to enjoy watching an angry man murder as many people as he can.

Audience Reviews for Marvel's The Punisher: Season 1

Marvel's television wing continues to dish out more gripping content with The Punisher Season 1. There are plenty of hiccups in its plot and character development but there's no ignoring of its powerful take on the mental warfare as well as the grisly-violent nature of their vigilnte star character that make it a solid intro to this revamped version. 4/5
