It's hard to shame something that goes out of its way to be absurdly cheesy and to build a world where even the characters don't take themselves too seriously. The actors often look just seconds away from bursting out laughing.
The comedy Catastrophe, meanwhile, is back for a second series, and it isn't just funny but offers characters you can truly care about, which is why it's so sublime.
Catastrophe is kind of a wonder: a romantic comedy that's actually hysterically funny and navigates the clichés of the formula smartly.
The excellent, if uncomfortable, new season picks up three years later, when Rob and Sharon are parents to two children and fully in the zone of marital struggle.
For Sharon and Rob parenthood is just as much of a disaster zone as the unplanned pregnancy which threw them together in the first series. And the jokes still come at you like rapid machine-gun fire.
